Hey, everybody — please put your hands together and give a warm welcome to Lauren Alwan. Lauren will be one of our prose editors. She has a lot of great ideas about what we can do with the museum of americana and we’re really pleased to have her on board as we build our journal. Here’s a little bit about Lauren:
Lauren Alwan was born in New York and grew up in the San Gabriel Valley outside Los Angeles. She now lives in the East Bay of San Francisco in a banana belt along the Hayward Fault. Her fiction has appeared in the Alaska Quarterly Review, StoryQuarterly, and in the Sycamore Review as a finalist for the Wabash Prize in Fiction. She is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize nomination and a graduate of the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers. Her essays and reviews have been featured at The Rumpus, The Best Damn Creative Writing Blog and LitStack, where she is currently a staff contributor.
I must admit — the process of selecting editors has been far more difficult than I could have imagined. We’ve had a lot of good candidates for both the prose and poetry positions. But we nearly have our whole team assembled now. Check back over the next couple of days to find out who else will be joining us.
