Michael WatersonMichael Waterson was born in Pittsburgh and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 40 years. He writes poetry and songs, and is a past Poet Laureate of the Napa Valley as well as the seanachie (storyteller or bard) of Kith & Kin, a traditional Irish music band. He works for Burgess Cellars winery in St. Helena, California.

Mike’s brother, John, accompanies him on “Ballad of the Bridge to Nowhere” on bass, dobro and harmonica. The Fort Duquesne Bridge across the Allegheny River was all but completed in 1963, except for the final section, due to right-of-way issues. On December 12, 1964, a 21 year old University of Pittsburgh student drove a 1959 Chrysler station wagon off the end of the bridge and landed unhurt on the other side. The bridge finally opened for traffic in 1969.
